👋 Welcome to G8
Eight friends. One app. We've been eating well, travelling far, and splitting bills awkwardly for years — so we built something to handle all of it.
G8 is our private group hub. It tracks shared expenses, trip costs, monthly pool contributions, birthdays, group polls, and restaurant wishlists — all in one place, synced live across every device.
No more "who paid last time?", missed birthdays, or WhatsApp threads trying to figure out a date that works. It's all here.

Getting Started
Signing In
Password + who you are

Open the app and enter the group password.

Tap "Who are you?" in the top right and select your name. This lets the app track your votes and contributions.

Your identity is remembered on this device — you only need to set it once per browser.
💡
Change your identity any time by tapping your name chip in the header.

💰 Money Tab
Dine Out
Track restaurant bills and who owes what

Go to Money → Dine Out and tap + Add Event.

Enter the restaurant name, date, total bill, and who paid.

Select who was present — the bill is split evenly among them.

After paying the bill payer back, tap the checkmark next to your name to mark yourself settled.
💡
Tap any event card to expand settlements. Use "Mark all settled" to clear everyone at once.
Travel Expenses
Track trip costs and balances

Go to Money → Travel and tap + New Trip.
2
Enter trip name, destination, dates, and who's going.
3
Open the trip and use + Add to log expenses (flights, hotel, meals, etc.).

The app calculates net balances and shows the Settle Up transfers needed.
💡
For each expense, select who paid and who it covers — doesn't have to be everyone on the trip.
Contribution Pool

Go to Money → Pool to see the contribution grid.

Click any cell to log a contribution for a member-month.

Use + Withdrawal to record spending from the fund.
💡
Pool balance = contributions minus withdrawals. Members behind are flagged automatically.

Checklists
Shared to-do lists with assigned owners

Go to Lists and tap + New Checklist to create a list.

Add items and optionally assign them to a member so it's clear who owns each task.

Check off items as they're done — the progress bar updates in real-time for everyone.

Assigned names appear as a badge next to each item — visible to everyone.

Birthdays
Never miss a birthday again

Go to Birthdays — members sorted by next upcoming birthday.

Tap Edit to update a birthday (format: MM-DD, e.g.
01-24).3
The Home banner shows the next upcoming birthday and how many days away.

On someone's actual birthday their row is highlighted in gold and a notification appears on Home.
Polls
Group decisions made easy

Go to Polls and tap + New Poll.

Enter a question and 2–4 options. The poll goes live instantly.

Everyone votes with a single tap. Results show as a live bar chart.

The poll creator can close it to lock the result.
💡
Active polls also show on the Home dashboard so no one misses them.

Restaurants and destinations to try

Go to Wishlist — choose Restaurants or Destinations.

Tap + Add to suggest a place.

Tap the heart ❤️ to upvote items you want to visit. Most popular rise to the top.
